Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) often referred to by her real title Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter of Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be contracted to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. On October 21, 2016 she dropped Pho the debut EP on the label Dreamville Records. It was at this point that she gained her first recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading songs to the Internet in 2012, when she released her first mixtape, Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw her release more music via the Internet including Bound. On July 21 2015 she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat It Out. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's reference. Later in the season, the music was circulating throughout Dreamville. It was announced on December 8, that she had made an agreement with Dreamville Records. On the Album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. Her Pho EP was released on her debut EP on October 21st in 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and also performed as the opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. The singer also performed on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus together with Bas, her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July, 2018. The music video then released in September. Then, in November, she released singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. The 13th of November, she came out with two additional singles, the No One or Pedigree. Then she appeared to the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on February 26 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same name. The 20th of February, 2019, a music clip was made available for the song. It has already received 3 millions views on YouTube during its initial week. In December 2018 she was part of From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
